The Loving Heart Hospice Foundation is a nonprofit organization (Tax I.D. # 77-044034) associated with Tender Loving Care Home Hospice. The foundation was formed by the owners of TLC when they realized many low-income patients in Ventura County and San Fernando Valley could not afford medical hospice items not covered by insurance. Examples of these types of services include caregiving visits to the home, days in a skilled nursing facility specializing in hospice, specialized grief counseling, funeral expenses or cremation costs, and the like. The Foundation provides grants to low-income patients that are uninsured, underinsured, or have exhausted their personal resources in paying for those items not covered.

The "Art of Hearts" Annual Fundraiser, Saturday, November 10

On November 10, 2007, the Foundation is hosting the fifth annual "Art of Hearts", an auction of "heart art" at a private home in Lake Sherwood from 6:30 to 9:30. The silent and live art auction consists of pieces donated to the foundation by locally and nationally known artists. Each piece of art in the auction incorporates a heart in the design.

The heart is either a key part of the design or it is very subtle. In the past, the art auction has included pieces from such well-known artists as Romero Britto (Miami, Florida), Peter Max (NYC), Jane Seymour (Malibu), Kate Yarbrough (Santa Barbara), Sheila Fein (Agoura), Ron McKee (Westlake Village), and Shannon Lundberg (Newbury Park).

The cost is $75.00 per person and attendance is limited. Please call for ticket information. The money raised by this event provides no-cost medical hospice care for numerous needy families throughout the community.

Loving Heart Pins

We are pleased to offer these unique, hand-made heart pins to benefit the Loving Heart Hospice Foundation! They are made by Designs by Lucinda, a company founded to benefit non-profits only. The mission of this organization is to provide professional hospice care services and any hospice related needs to assist terminally ill person(s) and families in maintaining a certain quality of life during and after the course of their illness. Services include financial aid grants, caregiver support groups, bereavement support groups, counseling, funeral and memorial services and other related needs, including placement at facilities if needed.

The Loving Heart Hospice Foundation relies on individual donations, grants from private foundations, state funding and fundraising events.
